        Centenary Bulk Grain Handling

Ariah Park Bulk Grain Handling Centenary Committee invites you to attend a celebration to mark 100 years since the first experimental bulk load of wheat on rail in Australia was despatched by Webster Brothers, Agents of Ariah Park, to Lindley Walker in Sydney.

PROGRAM

Friday 30th September

2.00 pm              Ariah Park Bowling Club

Launch of Ariah Park Heritage DVD "Under the Peppercorns" - The first heritage DVD on the  history of Ariah Park and District featuring interviews with a number of Ariah Park senior residents combined with old home movies and still photos   $30 for one or $50 for two.

7.00 pm              Doors open at Ariah Park Memorial Hall.  Music at 8.00 pm

Centenary Ball.  1960s theme with "Fendermen" re-union band.  Bar facilities provided.  Bring your own supper.  $25 per person.  Make your table or individual bookings now with Jen 0488 050 121.  Tickets available at Rick Firmans Menswear Temora and Ariah Park Hardware.

Saturday 1st October

11.00 am            Coolamon Street Ariah Park

The street will be closed for a Centenary street parade of machinery through the ages with trucks, tractors and headers from every decade plus community and individual floats.  Northern Jets Football Club BBQ, Red Hen Hospitality Food Stall, Soft serve ice-cream, Mobile coffee van.  Eats and drinks also available at Ariah Park Bowling Club, Ariah Park Hotel and Ariah Park Cafe.

1.30pm                Unveiling of wheat lumper statue

Regency Ramblers street rods show and shine

Telecast of the AFL Grand Final at both the Ariah Park Bowling Club and the Ariah Park Hotel

2.30 pm             Unveiling of signage at the Peters Creek/Wells Crossing new bridge

3.00 pm             Unveiling of new Heritage Panels at the Broken Dam Rest Area

  Centenary Variety Concert.  Admission:  16 and over $10;  Under 16 FREE.  Light supper with tea/coffee/juice included
